Bucharest, “Little Paris”
“Romania and France has close cultural bonds, which are displayed in our architecture. I am glad to see that Roche Bobois strengthens the ties on a design and decoration level. This way, Bucharest reinforces its nickname: Little Paris”, Gilles Bonan said. He is the CEO of the company, which is still controlled (for 60 %) by the Roche and Chouchan families.
Right in the heart of Bucharest’s historical district, Roche Bobois’ showroom will benefit from a lot of visibility and its two collections (Les Contemporains and les Nouveaux Classiques) will be displayed on 500 sqm, all located on a single floor.
Roche Bobois manages more than 50 % of its 409 million euro turnover in 2014 abroad (55 % to be exact). France is its largest market, but the United States – with a 5 % turnover increase in 2014, is now its second largest market. This turnover increase has also helped the company evade the slump in the furniture sector.
