A group known for its multiple paths
George Plassat re-election as Carrefour’s CEO for another three years received 89.05 % of the votes during Thursday’s Shareholders’ General Meeting in Paris.
“A company’s performance should not only be judged based on its financial merits. Carrefour is reinventing itself, is on the move. It is currently transforming into a hybrid company, with multiple formats, multiple channels and multiple locations”, he said during the Shareholders’ General Meeting. He also welcomed the Moulin family into the group of shareholders, underlining their “actual knowledge of what we do”.
Two directors-general will keep their job
Back in February, Carrefour announced two new directors-general, Pierre-Jean Sivignon and Jérôme Bédier, to take over responsibilities while the CEO was temporarily absent. They had to present Carrefour’s yearly fiscal results to the analysts, experts and the press in March 2015.
Georges Plassat says they will both stay on as directors-general. “I would like to keep this well-functioning team by my side. The size of the overall company deserves a stronger organization and both Pierre-Jean and Jérôme will keep their current tasks and will even add, as my assistants, a more country-focused operational role.”
