Market leader in beauty parlours
The brand was launched three years after the couple had founded the International Dermal Institute, a training center for skilled skin specialists which went on to become one of the most important parties in the skin care industry. Dermalogica, the market leader in beauty parlours and spas, says its products do not contain any chemical preservatives, colour additives, alcohol or industrial lubricants.
The brand managed a 220 million euro turnover last year and sells its beauty products in some 80 countries all across the world. It is unclear how much Unilever paid for the acquisition, but Raymond and Jane Wurwand will still have a minority stake in the company and will still be involved in product development.
