Turnover up 11 %
Ikea’s total turnover reached 31.9 billion euro in its fiscal year 2015, up 11.2 % compared to the year before. Ignoring exchange rate fluctuations 8.9 % remained, and also excluding new stores, the turnover increase was still 5.1 %. Ikea will divulge its full numbers in December, so more details will only be revealed then.
“We are very happy with this turnover development. We have seen major growth in nearly all IKEA markets. Our employees are doing a wonderful job to offer low-priced, excellent quality habitation solutions in all of our sales channels, whether it is in existing stores, newly opened stores or online”, CEO Peter Agnefjäll said.
China was once again Ikea’s fastest growing market, trailed by Russia. On a worldwide level, Ikea was able to display growth in nearly all markets. Ikea opened 13 new stores last year and added 3 pick-up points in Spain, Norway and Finland.
