Belgian chain originally
Groupe Bertrand acquired Quick late last year from French investment fund Qualium and it also happens to be the majority shareholder in Burger King France and the American restaurant chain’s biggest French franchisee. Once it acquired Quick, it immediately divulged plans to change its 400 French restaurants into Burger King restaurants.
All non-French restaurants would still remain Quick, but it seems Groupe Bertrand wants to cut its Belgian restaurants off from its French division. Quick, founded in Belgium in the 1970’s, has about 100 restaurants in Belgium. Groupe Bertrand’s plans are only in a preliminary phase, which means there are no interested parties just yet.
