Every year, it also wants to lower the ecological footprint of its own products, while 100 % of its natural ingredients have to be cultivated sustainably. The Body Shop also wants to develop and implement three sustainable packaging innovations, while it wants to see to it that 70 % of its packaging is produced without the need for fossil fuels. The stores’ energy need also has to lower 10 % every year.
“From the start, The Body Shop has always been a brave pioneer in the search for new thought and trade patterns. Our groundbreaking campaigns were ahead of their time and have led to new laws for animal testing, domestic violence and human trafficking”, The Body Shop CEO, Jeremy Schwartz, said. “This Commitment is a challenge to go further than we have gone before, to really make a sustainable and positive difference. Our most important goal is to become the most ethical and sustainable global business.”
