Amazon has launched Amazon Prime Now, which delivers orders within the hour, in Paris this morning. Amazon customers can use the service in the Parisian city centre and 21 suburbs.
No plans for Amazon Fresh yet
There had been rumours about Prime Now’s French launch, but it has been confirmed now and the service is immediately available. However, only Prime subscribers can access the service, and they will need to pay 5.9 euro to get their package delivered within the hour. Amazon feels one-hour deliveries are not possible in several regions, which means customers will have to wait up to two hours. The upside for those customers is that these customers will not have to pay the extra shipping costs.
Customers can only use Prime Now if they order through a mobile device. This is a rule in every country with Prime Now, except for the United States where customers can also order on computers.
Amazon currently has no plans to launch Amazon Fresh, its online supermarket, in France. It is only available in several American cities and recently London.
