Second quarter turnover reached 142.7 million euro, compared to 131.5 million euro the year before. EBIT grew from 6.9 million euro to 10.3 million euro in the second quarter. Wessanen now forecasts a 5 to 7 % autonomous growth for its full fiscal year, while it aims to invest 8 to 9 million euro this year.
“We are continuing to make good progress on the execution of our strategy and have achieved strong growth and increased profitability”, CEO Christophe Barnouin said. “More and more consumers want to change to healthier and more sustainable food and we are well placed to benefit from this long term trend.”
Over the past few years, Wessanen greatly expanded its brands, mainly in the British market. It recently acquired Mrs Crimble’s, a well-known gluten-free brand in the United Kingdom.
