Fashion label Michael Kors launched its own version of Instagram in the shape of InstaKors. Visitors get benefits if they come back often and can also directly click on links to product pages.
Special bonuses
The current InstaKors is actually an update for its first version, which dates back to 2014. Back then, users received a mail with every piece of product information whenever Michael Kors images were tagged on Instagram with #InstaKors.
The new system has a special website that embodies every Michael Kors image on Instagram, which are then directly linked to the appropriate product page. Michael Kors feels the need to do this as Instagram does not allow links to other pages in its description.
Not only do customers get a feed, they also get bonuses when they reply to Michael Kors’ Instagram image soften. For example, they could get special discounts. At the launch of a new collection, certain Michael Kors products will be available first on InstaKors, even before they are available in the web shop.
“We know that our social media fans are some of our most engaged fans, and we wanted to find a way to give them a little something more,” said Lisa Pomerantz, senior vice president of Michael Kors.
