In New Zealand, Heineken launched a pilot program revolving around beacons, which should help draw people into restaurants and bars that serve Heineken. Customers will need to install a particular app though.
Different type of messages
With the Heineken LIVE app, you can walk past 500 beacons the company installed all across the country and instantly get a notification, which should help pull people into bars and restaurants according to Heineken.
The message depends on the location: if the consumer is in the street, he will get a general message, but if he is in the bar or restaurant’s vicinity, he might actually get a discount if a Heineken is ordered. Users can also collect points that can be exchanged for rewards.
Rush Digital developed and installed the long-distance beacons for Heineken.
