German online animal store Zooplus‘ performance in the first half of 2016 was very strong, which is why it has decided to increase its full-year turnover forecast to 900 million euro.
Above expectations
Over the course of the first 6 months of 2016, Zooplus generated 428.4 million euro in turnover, a 29 % increase compared to last year. It achieved double-digit growth in every single one of its 30 nation-based markets. Its EBIT also spiked, from 3.6 million euro to 5.1 million euro, on the back of the excellent turnover growth.
“The sales growth generated in the first half of 2016 exceeded our expectations. We are especially pleased that our operating business finances our continued high level of growth and generates positive free cash flow at the same time.”, CEO Cornelius Patt said.
Not only did it manage to increase its turnover, Zooplus will continue to expand its infrastructure. It has a new distribution center planned for 2016’s fourth quarter, located in Antwerp and in collaboration with Katoen Natie.
