In the third quarter of 2016, German online pet store Zooplus’ turnover grew another 28 %, although it did experience slower growth in the United Kingdom because of its weaker currency.
Brexit impact
German Zooplus’ third quarter turnover reached 227 million euro, up 28 % compared to the 178 million euro from last year. The surge is similar to the 28 % it managed overall in its first three quarters.
The company’s growth pace was slightly lower than in the previous quarters, mainly because of the Brexit. The pound weakened, lowering the company’s UK growth. If the Brexit impact is excluded, the online pet shop’s turnover would have grown more than 30 %.
For its full fiscal year, Zooplus expects at least 900 million euro in turnover, up from the 742.7 million euro in 2015. Back then, that represented a 30 % turnover increase compared to 2014.
