American online retailer Amazon is thinking about zeppelins as a forward distribution center. These could then launch drones to supply customers.
Retailer files patent
How can you create an efficient and fast logistical system? At sea or in harbours, there are containers to clear the final hurdle from larger to smaller ships; on land, there are forward distribution centers that service customers with bike taxis or small cars.
Amazon now thinks zeppelins are the way to go in the air, with drones to bring the shipment to the customer, and has filed a patent for the idea. It did similarly for the shuttles that ought to bring people and drones to the flying distribution center. One such instance for these zeppelins is during major events, when the retailer expects increased demand and wants to save time. The zeppelin’s exterior could also be fully branded with advertisements.
