British online electronics store AO grew 28.4 % in Europe over the course of the third quarter. It is also much better than its performance at home, where it achieved an 8.9 % growth.
Growth in every market
“AO continues to make progress on its long term plan; delivering sales growth across all categories and territories. We performed well over our peak period, particularly through Black Friday”, CEO John Roberts said. AO.com’s like-for-like turnover grew 12.3 % in the third quarter: + 10.3 % in the United Kingdom and 28.4 % in Europe, mainly thanks to the European mainland expansion over the past 12 months.
Starting last year, AO has been present in the Netherlands, following the United Kingdom and Germany. It also recently opened a new distribution center in Cologne, to better service the European market. Over the first six months of its fiscal year, AO’s turnover grew 22.9 % to 324.7 million pounds (380 million euro).
