Italian fashion brand Moncler performed well in 2017’s first quarter. Its retail sales grew considerably, especially in Europe. It has 191 stores all across the world.
Growth in every market
Moncler’s total turnover reached 276.2 million euro for the quarter, up 16 % compared to the year before. Excluding exchange rate fluctuations, growth would have peaked at 15 %.
Moncler’s retail activities achieved the largest growth, up 18 % to 203.9 million euro. The brand performed exceptionally well in Europe (excluding Italy), with a 26 % retail turnover growth thanks to excellent sales in the United Kingdom, France and Germany. Its home territory, Italy, also posted good results, with turnover up 7 %. North and South American turnover grew 12 % thanks to several new stores in the United States, like a new store on the prestigious Madison Avenue in New York. Asian turnover also grew 12 %.
Looking at wholesale activities, turnover grew 8 % to 72.3 million euro.
