Beter Bed Holding’s second quarter turnover grew to 94.6 million euro, up 5.3 % compared to last year. Even if the Sängjätten acquisition is excluded, the company still posted nice growth numbers.
Germany on the right track
Excluding the acquisition, turnover still grew 2.9 % compared to last year’s second quarter. Dutch turnover grew 6.1 % and order numbers also grew 13.1 % on a like-for-like basis. Switzerland (+ 8.1 %), Spain (+ 12.2 %) and Belgium (an astonishing 38.6 %) all posted turnover growth. In Sweden, the chain’s order numbers grew 19.4 % in the second quarter.
There was still a 0.9 % like-for-like turnover drop, but that was still better than the – 1.7 % from the year before. If the extremely hot weather from June hadn’t happened, Germany would have also posted minor growth, CEO Ton Anbeek believes.
Beter Bed Holding expects the turnover growth to persist in the second half of the year. Germany should also return to growth then.
