Five
times larger
The
newest shop-in-shop will be much larger than the pop-up store, as
Topshop will occupy 1880 square feet on Lafayette’s second floor, quintupling the size of its previous store and allowing room for the
brand’s clothing, accessories and perfumes. The store’s grand opening was planned in September, but had to be postponed due to
construction works.
The
Lafayette store follows earlier openings in French department store
Printemps Hausmann and the French Californians boutique.
Nevertheless, Topshop’s thirst for international expansion has not
yet been quenched. Moving into De Bijenkorf marks its return to the
Dutch market, alongside a German expansion thanks to a collaboration
with Karstadt. Moreover,
the
United States will be welcoming some thirty-odd pop up stores.
The arrival of American investor Leonard Green led to the
expansion beyond British borders, with the first store in Hong Kong
and its first flagship store in Los Angeles earlier this year.
