A mere three months after its first store in Antwerp, Texas Coffee will open a second store next weekend. The plan is not to stop there, but to expand to every Belgian city.
Counter to healthy bars
Founders Cheeru Mampaey and Alexander Provoost have chosen the American style for their coffee and breakfast chain Texas Coffee. Customers can enjoy a range of (breakfast) dishes all day in a typical American diner setting. The store also sells milkshakes with surprising toppings and the strongest coffee in the world. “One healthy bar after another is opening its doors in Antwerp and we wanted to create a counter to that”, Mampaey said.
It has collaborated with interior design store Rodenrijk 18 to create the interior for its Antwerp store, located in the Volksstraat. Rodenrijk 18 will provide a new design every six weeks. 3That collaboration is going so well that it made sense to open a location inside the furniture store”, Mampaey told Made in Kempen.
The owners’ appetite for expansion has not been quenched with this second store. “We have received offers to open a Texas Coffee pretty much from everywhere and yes, we are ambitious”, the owners said. “By the end of next year, we would like to have four or five locations in Belgium, with one in every Belgian city as a target. At the same time, we are also looking into a possible Dutch expansion.”
