The “secret meetings in preparation of celebrating 10 years Apple Store”, stirring high expectations on internet fora worldwide, have resulted in general disappointment. Apple claims it has launched “Apple Store 2.0”, but the differences with the earlier version are not all that big.
The main change is an interactive screen next to every product, where customers can view the technical information and prices of that product… and that interactive screen is, of course, an iPad – protected by plexiglas and running special store software.
Apple enthusiasts hail the “total make-over” on internet fora, claiming a “totally new experience”. Other fans were disappointed, saying the make-over was just “putting an iPad with information next to another iPad” or “just a waste”. One clever person even suggested that “this is why Apple was able to sell so many iPads: they bought them themselves”.
