French supermarket company Carrefour has entered a collaboration with optical retail chain Atol to launch a new store formula called Carrefour Optique et Audition. The first stores should open their doors next year.

“This collaboration illustrates that Carrefour intends to expand its number of customer services and that Atol wants to reach a complementary customer base”, a press release said. Together, they wish to present a complete package, both for optical and hearing aids.
Carrefour Optique et Audition’s products will not only be available in stores, but also with a “innovative digital product range”. With this new chain, Carrefour has taken another step towards the diversification of its customer services.
Atol is a cooperative with independent opticians spread all across France. Carrefour’s plan is to support them locally with a new formula. So far, Carrefour Optique et Audition is currently only planned for France.
