A quarter of a billion Amazon customers will soon be able to use their Amazon
profile to order from other web shops, leading to faster payments. They will not have to share their information
with the smaller web shops, which they might trust less than they do with giant Amazon. Amazon’s own system takes care of the
payment, avoiding information sharing.
Web shops will not need to pay a fixed amount to use Amazon’s service, but a fixed sum per transaction. The service is a mix of two previously launched Amazon services: Amazon
Payments and Login With Amazon. By the end of this year, these two services
will merge into Login and Pay with Amazon.
The new service will be available on computers, tablets and smartphones, protecting both the web shop against fraud and the online shopper
with Amazon’s ‘A-to-Z Guarantee’.
