Unilever Belgium will restructure its team of store representatives and cut eleven jobs. The company confirmed that to RetailDetail.
End in sight for margarine team
Sources have indicated Unilever will once again cut in its retail sales team. The company is currently reorganizing its Belgian operations, where it will move several positions to an external supplier and also cut several positions.
Unilever will indeed alter its Belgian organization, the brand manufacturer confirms. Its field sales teams will be split in two: a Unilever Field and a BCS Field (Baking, cooking and spreading) team, which is a temporary team as Unilever is preparing to sell the margarine division. KKR is apparently close to buying the division, but this national sales team should assure the margarine division’s continuity.
“Altered situation in the retail landscape”
The proposed changes will make eleven positions redundant. Hamilton Bright will become Unilever’s communal external partner for the entire Benelux. Previously, several people were already transferred to an external partner.
The restructuring plan is also an attempt to meet the retail landscape’s altered circumstances”, spokesperson Freek Bracke said. “With a high-impact, flexible and effective organization, we want to assure our Field Force’s long-term future and we will be better able to meet our customers’ expectations.”
