Collaboration with local partners
Tesco had announced several months ago that it would go for a franchise-based expansion for its clothing chain
F&F in countries where that chain was not yet present: the plans envisioned fifty stores in five years, a goal that will easily be reached at the current pace.
F&F opened its first Saudi
Arabian franchise store in May, moving to Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan
a month later for its second store. In total, 19 F&F franchise stores have
been opened, with another 13 stores incorporated into larger stores.
In Switzerland, Tesco is
collaborating with the second largest Swiss retailer, Coop. The first seven
stores were opened inside of a Coop hypermarket, in and around Zurich. Pisa
International was the partner for the stores in Gibraltar, containing its very
first F&F Kids store.
F&F’s clothes are sold in 16
countries, with a 2012 turnover of more than 1 billion pounds (1.2 billion
euro) in Great Britain alone.
