Monoprix and Monop heading for Luxembourg
Both French
franchise holders (Eliran Hagège and Éric Amiel) plan to open a second Monoprix
store in Esch-sur-Alzette, and on top of that they hope to realize another eight smaller Monop stores (ranging between
250 sqm and 750 sqm). These smaller stores will focus exclusively on
food products. Hagège and Amiel already own a Parisian Monoprix
store.
Aside from food products, Monoprix
has tools, clothing, cosmetics, household items and gift items in its array of
products. Monoprix used to be a joint venture between Casino and Galeries
Lafayette, but has been Casino’s sole propriety from this Summer onwards, when
it bought Galeries Lafayette’s 50 % stake.
