A first for the Belgian
kitchen brand
The first foreign ‘master franchise’ is also a first for the Belgian kitchen
world, even though Eggo’s ambitions reach even further. “We wish to open several stores in Madrid as soon as possible, in order to make
a name for ourselves, before we head out into the rest of Spain”, marketing
manager Paul David has stated.
The (bold) choice for Spain is no coincidence: “We have had the idea some
two years ago, when the crisis was in full swing. We have been looking for ideal
Spanish partners ever since and we have especially been looking for an ideal
location for our flagship store. In the meantime, we see the signs of economic recovery in Spain, especially in the
commercial real estate sector. We
will be ready when that recovery picks up.”
Remarkable is that Eggo is offering Belgium and Spain the same kitchen
concepts: “We intend to keep things
similar between the Belgian and Spanish market, like the white kitchens and
gripless models nowadays”, Paul David confirmed.
42 Belgian stores
In barely six years, Eggo has opened
42 stores in Belgium. Not only had it opened a new 10,000 sqm logistics
centre in Rhisnes (near Namur), but also two more showrooms. Shortly, it will unveil a new store in Turnhout and it aims to open
another ten in the next two to three years.
Eggo manages to sell nearly 15,000 kitchens on a yearly basis. 250 employees, fitters
and deliverymen help to get a 95 million
euro turnover, resulting in second place in Belgium after Ixina.
