Standaard Boekhandel, a leading Belgian book store chain, has opened a store in the new pedestrian area in the centre of Brussels. Aiming for an international public, the store offers an above average range of French and English books.
20.000 titles
The new 1000 sqm store in Anspach Shopping Brussels spans two floors and more than doubles its range in books compared to its previous location (rising from 8,000 to 20,000), including an selection of international best sellers in French and English. For the first time in the chain’s history, a Standaard Boekhandel store has almost half of its range in non-Dutch language books. Special for this flagship store are a coffee corner by Illy and a shop-in-shop by Moleskine, but also the incorporation of the chain’s originally French sister chain Club which sells pencils, notebooks and other writing accessories.
“We wanted to give Brussels the store this city deserves”, say regional manager Katrien Noblesse and store manager Els Verstraete. “We have been looking for a suitable location for a long time and are overjoyed with this place, in the attractive new pedestrian area. Based on our first experiences, we notice that French-speaking customers already find the way to our store quite easily.”
