Sissy-Boy, the Dutch apparel chain also active in Belgium, has requested suspension of debt repayment. Last weekend, a potential acquirer for the chain withdrew.
Summer in autumn
The owner of the fashion chain, Brand Retail Group, has confirmed the request for suspension of debt repayment. Sissy-Boy has 45 outlets and 600 employees in the Netherlands and Belgium.
The chain has been ailing for some time. The disappointing autumn sales due to the warm weather proved too much for the company. Last year, it recorded a loss of 2.5 million euros.
To save the company, Sissy-Boy entered negotiations with an unknown investor. Unfortunately, the latter withdrew last weekend.
In Belgium, the chain has stores in Knokke-Heist, Gent, Hasselt, Bruges and Antwerp.
