Irish clothing discounter Primark has doubled the size of its best performing store worldwide, at the Rue Neuve in Brussels.
Not just fashion
The store now occupies a total of 3,550 sqm on two floors. On top of the men’s and women’s fashion department, there is also room for children’s clothing and for shoes, accessories, lingerie, beauty and decoration. 52 fitting booths and 48 checkouts should be able to deal with the expected mass of visitors.
Director of sales Kevin Tulip said the store renovation demonstrates Belgium is an important market for Primark. The Irish chain has seven stores in Belgium: two in Brussels and one in Antwerp, Charleroi, Ghent, Hasselt and Liège. The store at Brussels’ most important shopping street Rue Neuve was – before the expansion – the Primark with the highest turnover per square metre in the world.
