Marco Airoldi will no longer be Benetton Fashion Company’s CEO after the annual shareholders’ meeting, scheduled for 16 May. He had been CEO since 2014 and led the brand’s restructuring program over the past few years.
New COO as well
When he took charge of Benetton, he had to make the company more profitable, but he also quickly turned attention to several major brands, like United Colors of Benetton and Sisley, stepping away from smaller brands. “The Board of Directors expressed its thanks to Marco Airoldi, who since 2013 – first as a consultant then as CEO and Managing Director – has contributed to the definition and subsequent launch of the company refocus and relaunch plan which targets a selection of markets, stores and the Benetton Group brands”, the press release states.
It is not clear whether a replacement has already been found, but the company did announce that Tommasso Bruso will become the new COO. He has been with the company for several years now, working in Italy and the United States. Currently, he is the CEO for Fedon, Furla and Diesel’s North American activities.
