In Germany, C&A has decided to join forces with Zalando. The online fashion giant is now also extending its successful “Connected Retail” partner programme to Austria.
3,000 partners already
Through Connected Retail, physical fashion retailers can sell their items through Zalando. C&A has now also joined the partner programme, but for the time being only with selected German shops. C&A sees the cooperation as an addition to its own webshop, which also fits within the existing omnichannel strategy. “We are strengthening our position as one of Europe’s leading fashion brands offering a wide range of more sustainable products,” says Martijn van der Zee, Chief Merchandise & Sourcing Officer at C&A Europe.
Connected Retail now has over 3,000 partners. This year alone, more than 500 new partners have joined. The Covid crisis and, subsequently, lockdowns have obviously given the partner programme an enormous boost.
As of today, Austrian retailers can join the Zalando partner programme. It will be the ninth country in which Connected Retail is available, following Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. Zalando has already announced that Belgium will be added to that list soon. The online fashion platform aims to double the number of connected retailers this year.
