Rubin Ritter, one of Zalando‘s three CEOs since 2010, will leave the online fashion retailer in May next year.
Different priorities
Rider’s contract would normally run until the end of 2023, but he himself insisted on leaving. A decision he has thought long and hard about, he says. “After more than eleven great years at Zalando, I feel it’s time to give my life a new direction. I want to spend more time with my family. My wife and I have agreed that her professional ambitions should be our priority in the years to come”.
At Zalando, Ritter was responsible for market strategy and communication. In the future, the two remaining CEOs, Robert Gentz and David Schneider will run the online fashion shop together.
Zalando was founded in 2008 in Berlin. In twelve years, the start-up grew to become the largest online fashion platform in Europe, with more than 35 million customers in 17 countries.
