Danish store chain Flying Tiger will change its name into Flying Tiger Copenhagen in June. It currently has several different names, because its original name Tiger was not allowed to be used everywhere.
More than 600 stores
Flying Tiger was founded in Denmark as “Tiger”, but that name cannot use that name everywhere. In Belgium and the Netherlands the chain is called Flying Tiger, but that name is also not present everywhere. To create some sort of uniformity, all stores will transform into Flying Tiger Copenhagen in June, as it is a name that has clearance everywhere.
In the meantime, the Danish chain continues to expand its store network. It already has more than 600 stores in 28 countries, with the 19th Dutch store opening next week. Belgium already has nine stores too. In both countries, Tiger uses a joint venture with a local company to work on its expansion.
