With OK Market! Carrefour is trialling a new express delivery service in Paris and Lyon: customers can choose from no less than 20,000 items, including fresh products from the in-store counters.
Delivery within 3 hours
Carrefour continues to expand its e-commerce offer: after taking a minority stake in express delivery company Cajoo and subsequently announcing the launch of its own express delivery service, the retailer is now trialling the OK Market! delivery service in the French cities Paris and Lyon.
A dedicated app gives customers access to 20,000 items, including many fresh products that are usually only available at deli counters in-store. For example, in Lyon Part Dieu, 140 types of sliced charcuterie are available through OK Market!, 50 fish items, 40 butcher’s items and 30 baked goods, writes French retail expert Olivier Dauvers. Carrefour promises to deliver the orders within three hours.
More expensive?
For the preparation and delivery of the orders, the supermarket chain charges a flat fee of 6.90 euros. Additional costs may be incurred for specific services, such as slicing meat and fish. There is no minimum spending amount.
As for the prices in the app, Carrefour states in its general conditions that they could differ from the prices in-store. How and who will make the deliveries is uncertain at this point.
