After the departure of operational director Dieter De Waegeneer, Belgian supermarket chain Delhaize is changing the structure of its executive committee. Three new positions will be added.
Expanded executive committee
Executive Vice President of Operations Dieter De Waegeneer will leave the retailer on 28 February. “On behalf of Delhaize, I would like to acknowledge Dieter’s exceptional commitment, dedication and personal investment. His mark on how we know Delhaize today is unmistakable. I wish him every success for the future”, CEO Xavier Piesvaux said.
As a result of De Waegeneer’s departure, the executive committee will be expanded to include three new positions as of 1 March. Johan Ideler has been appointed Senior Vice President of Logistics and Supply Chain. Up to now, he has been Vice President of Asset Protection, Quality & Shrink. Raffael Li Preti is appointed SVP Retail Operations, up a rank from VP Commercial Unit Fresh & Strategic Sourcing. Fatma Keskin, current VP Legal, Ethics & Compliance, sees Asset Protection & Quality added to her job description.
The three of them join the executive committee, which in addition to CEO Piesvaux also includes the following members: Alexandros Boussis (SVP Commerce, Marketing, Digital & Merchandising), Sebastien Cools (CIO Belgium & Central and South-Eastern Europe), Illya Van den Borre (SVP Human Resources & Corporate Affairs), Chloë Thoelen (SVP Strategy, E-commerce, Data & Business Development) and Hadewych Vermunt (CFO).
