A new distribution center for Belgian store chain Casa is also the launch of its new strategy Casa 20.20, designed to help the chain grow once more.
New formula
The new strategy will bring online and offline changes, with a new web shop (including “click & collect”), a new store formula and altered product range. “Our customers want to get inspired by the latest decoration trends, both online and in stores, in a delightful manner. Our accessible web shop, a vibrant website and our remodeled store formula will allow customers to bring their inspiration home”, CEO Giane Van Landuyt said.
The new formula had already been applied to forty stores in 2016 and another 200 will be added this year, with the rest to follow in 2018. Its new distribution center, built in Belgian Olen to support its new strategy, will service every store in Europe.
“We focused a lot of attention to the ecological foot print of our distribution center. This time, we can more efficiently ship our products to our 520 countries across eight European countries (Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria and Italy). We will eliminate up to 5,000 trips every year this way.”
The new distribution center did cost 47 labourers and three clerks their job, as announced earlier this year.
