Belgian flashdeal webshop Outspot becoming one of the largest European platforms of its kind. Following the acquisition of Spanish MeQuedoUno, the Belgians are active in ten countries.
“Becoming market leader”
Exceptional promotions during a very limited time: that has been Outspot’s speciality since 2008. Members can find a wide range of products, trips and experiences at exceptional prices on the website. The offer ranges from quilts over plants to hotel stays. An AI system provides the ten million members with relevant offers.
Outspot generates about two thirds of its annual turnover of 24 million euros outside of its Belgian home market. The platform has used acquisitions to grow quickly in recent years, including those of Dealdigger, 6Deals and Dealpatrol in the Netherlands, Groupalia in Italy and Trend Corner in France. Now, the Belgian company is also taking over Spanish platform MeQuedoUno, a flash deal shop with more than half a million active members.
Outspot is now active in ten European countries: in addition to Belgium and its neighbours France, Germany and the Netherlands, these are Austria, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom. “Outspot’s ambition is to become market leader in Europe and this takeover is a great new step in that direction”, founder Stefan Van Overbeke said in a press release.
