Stefan De Loecker, currently the second in command at Beiersdorf, will become CEO of Nivea’s parent company as from December. Previously, the Belgian had worked at Nestlé for twenty years.
CEO passes torch
According to German Manager Magazin, De Loecker will lead Beiersdorf as from December. De Loecker currently is vice-CEO at the company, responsible for supply chain as well as the regions of North and South America, Africa, India and Russia. Current CEO Stefan Heidenreich and Beiersdorf part ways earlier than expected: the German would normally remain on board until the end of 2019, but in June Beiersdorf announced that cooperation is already coming to an end.
Although the news has not yet been officially confirmed, De Loecker is likely to succeed him. The new CEO started his career at Nestlé, where he stayed for twenty years and became CEO of the Russian market. He also worked at supermarket chain Tesco. Beiersdorf currently has 19,000 employees and realized a turnover of 7.1 billion euros in 2017. The operating profit amounted to 1 billion euros.
