The very first parapharmaceutical supermarket in Belgium spans 1,000 sqm. Its products do not require a prescription or are not tagged as medication. Its web shop will launch early 2015 and has another 25,000 products for sale, while it will open physical stores in Antwerp, Brussels and Liege in the spring of 2015.
Legally, Medi-Market cannot sell medication as that is only allowed at pharmacies, but it will bypass that issue through the launch of 2 companies: Medi-Market Parafarmacie and Medi-Market Farmacie. These will both be present at every Medi-Market supermarket, with separate entrances and products separated by a glass wall.
