Unilever has found a buyer for its beauty division Elida Beauty: American investment fund Yellow Wood Partners is paying an undisclosed sum for brands such as Timotei, Monsavon and Zwitsal.
Focus on strongest brands
Elida Beauty’s brands, accounting for 800 million euros in sales, are not among the most important names in Unilever’s portfolio: the multinational had already combined them into one entity in 2021 with a view to a later sale. Rather, Unilever wants to focus on its thirty strongest brands, which together account for 70 % of its sales.
Buyer Yellow Wood is a private equity fund that also owns footcare brand Scholl and already acquired skincare brand Suave from Unilever in May this year. How much Yellow Wood is paying for Elida Beauty is not known.
