Earlier this week, the Dutch Maxeda DIY Group has joined the Arena Alliance for the purchasing of DIY, garden, and decoration items. It is the eighth do-it-yourself retailer to join the European purchasing group.
Stronger position
Maxeda DIY Group aims to strengthen its competitiveness further through the partnership, CEO Guy Colleau said. The company behind Brico and Praxis also hopes to benefit from Arena Alliance’s extensive experience and knowledge in negotiations.
Arena’s board chairman Michael Baumgardt said in a press release that he is proud to welcome Maxeda DIY Group to his alliance, and hopes that the new partnership will be beneficial to all stakeholders.
Maxeda is the eighth DIY retailer to join the alliance, that was established in 2000 on the initiative of the French Groupement des Mousquetaires (Intermarché/Bricomarché). Other members are Hagebau (Germany), Jumbo (Switzerland), Bricofer (Italy), Baucenter (Russia), Dedeman (Romania), and Pevec (Croatia). Together they represent a turnover of 11.8 billion euros and are present in sixteen European countries.
