Dutch online retailer Coolblue is continuing its German expansion. Deliveries are now also possible in the area around Cologne, while a first physical store in Germany is planned to open soon.
Bike couriers next
Quite soon after expanding to a first German area (to be precise, the area around Düsseldorf), Coolblue has expanded its German catchment area to the region around Cologne. Customers in that area can now also order their washing machines, tumble dryers, fridges and the like at Coolblue and have them delivered – and installed – at home. The Dutch webshop ensures next day delivery through its own delivery service CoolblueLiefert.
Coolblue’s German plans do not end just there: a first physical store in Germany is expected to open soon. Meanwhile, the company is working to expand its eco-friendly delivery service by bike, and to add new services and product categories. Coolblue generated a turnover of 1.5 billion euros in Belgium and the Netherlands, but wants to become an important player on the huge German market as well.
