Lawyer will lead American Apple Stores
Atienza,
a Spanish lawyer, used to work for Levi Strauss, after coming from Walt
Disney. He will be reporting to Steve Cano, senior vice president for
retail, who in turn reports to Tim Cook, CEO of Apple.
Nevertheless,
Apple remains on the lookout for a senior vice president of retail,
focused on the Apple Stores. The position has been left vacant as of
October 2012, when John Browett left. As the stores are performing
decently, CEO Tim Cook is not in a hurry to find a replacement. The
search for possible candidates has been expanded beyond the borders of
the United States however.
Only
last month, Apple enlisted the services of Paul Deneve, a former
executive of Yves Saint-Laurent. Deneve is now responsible for wearable
technology, like the long-awaited iWatch.
