“More than half of all consumer electronics will be sold online by 2026”

Online sales of consumer electronics grew by almost a quarter last year. Further growth is on the horizon, mainly thanks to refurbished smartphones, unless US import tariffs throw a spanner in the works.

Second largest online sector

The European online market for consumer electronics continues to grow steadily, despite geopolitical tensions and macroeconomic pressures. In 2024, total online sales amounted to 112 billion euros, a whopping 24% more than in 2021. Almost half (42% or 47 billion euros) came from cross-border purchases.
