Professional use
The camera, dubbed OZO, has eight cameras and microphones which allow a 360 degrees recording at all times. That means this footage can instantly be used in virtual reality as it gives the user the chance to look and hear all around.
One of the camera’s strong suits is that one can view the footage merely a minute after it has been recorded, which is a vast improvement over the competition where it usually takes hours for that to happen. The eight built-in microphones record sound from all directions and will always present it to the user as coming from the right direction.
The OZO will officially launch in the fall and is catered towards professional users. Its price tag demonstrates that, as insiders claim it will show a “5-digit number”.
That same Nokia division is apparently also working on a new Android smartphone, although the Finns will have to wait for the Microsoft license to expire before using the household name on smartphones once more. That means the legendary brand could return to stores by the end of next year…
