Microsoft had bought Nokia entirely a while back and has renamed it Microsoft Mobile. Ever since, the once so famous Finnish phone brand has slid off the radar. Its phones are now often promoted without actually mentioning the brand name. Apparently, Microsoft will now get rid of the Nokia brand by the end of the year.
The Windows Phone brand name will also be discarded in favour of the Windows logo. Microsoft intends to update its OS entirely and integrate it completely into the desktop version of the OS. Windows Phone 8 and upgrade 8.1 will probably be the last versions of Windows Phone.
