Heineken may bid
AB InBev expects to get 1.8 billion euro from the Peroni and Grolsch sale. Several parties have already allegedly expressed an interest, including KKR and Bain Capital. Heineken and Carlsberg are apparently considering a joint bid.
AB InBev will get in contact with all possible buyers this week, in order to get non-binding offers in by mid-January and get everything finalized by the end of March 2016.
Grolsch and Peroni are currently still part of SABMiller, but have to be sold so that the merger between SABMiller and AB InBev can go through. The merger company will become the world’s largest beer manufacturer, with a huge lead on number two, Heineken.
