Ahold Europe eliminated
In total, 210 Ahold jobs will be cut, 130 of which in the Netherlands as the company had eliminated Ahold Europe as a separate corporate branch at the start of 2014. After careful consideration, several positions at its main office will be reshuffled while Albert Heijn’s commercial activities will be streamlined.
The company will partially downsize through natural attrition or because it will not keep temporary workers or because some job openings will just be left vacant. It also has a severance agreement with the Ahold Netherlands Central Works Council and the Vereniging Ahold Hoger Personeel (VAHP). The staff and the labour unions will be informed about the further plans today.
