On 7 September, Aldi Süd is presenting a new clothing line in collaboration with American singer Anastacia, during a Cologne fashion show. The clothes will be available in every store from mid-September onward.
“Music loves fashion”
This will be the German discounter’s fourth fashion collection, following collaborations with German fitness guru Daniel Aminati and twice with German designer Jette Joop. This time around, American singer Anastacia will help create a Glamrock-styled collection of outfits, including washed skinny jeans, biker jackets and colourful t-shirts.
Its label, called “Music loves fashion”, will be revealed during a Cologne fashion show on 7 September. A week later, coinciding with Anastacia’s new album release, the clothing will be on sale in the discount chain’s 1,870 stores. “Our exclusive collections developed with the help of celebrities are very popular among our customers,” said Kim Aline Suckow, deputy CEO of Aldi Süd’s sales team. “This shows that our strategy to offer exclusive and trendy fashion at affordable prices is the right step to take.”
Belgian and Dutch Anastacia fans will have to travel to the south or west of Germany, England or Switzerland, because the Aldi stores here will not carry the collection as they are part of Aldi Nord (just like France and Luxembourg). However, the singer’s die hard fans will probably not mind the trip.
