Belgian shoe chain Bristol is no longer accepting new online orders and has permanently closed its webshop yesterday. The liquidation sale continues in the physical stores only.
One last month
Bristol’s website now displays the message “We are no longer accepting new orders, but our teams will handle all orders that have been placed and paid for. Thank you for your purchases and trust.” The retailer also promises to handle returns as long as the head office remains open, but “mid-September, our Bristol story will unfortunately come to an end.”
At the same time, the company reports that the liquidation sale continues in its physical shops, at “insane discounts”. A lot of Bristol shops are still open, although opening hours do change each week.
Since the beginning of June, parent company Euro Shoe Group has enjoyed protection from creditors. Two buyers have come forward for two thirds of the Belgian stores: the court will rule on this shortly. However, nobody came forward for the Dutch shops, so they are now closing one by one.
