Outdoor clothing brand Canada Goose is reducing its workforce by 17 % as part of a transformation programme.
Immediate cost savings
“Change is a constant factor at Canada Goose”, CEO Dani Reiss said as he announced “a difficult decision”. One out of every six jobs is being cut as part of a transformation programme, intended to provide immediate cost savings and prepare the apparel brand for its next phase. “We are focusing on efficiency and margin expansion, while investing in key initiatives – brand, design and best-in-class operations – to deliver long-term growth,” the CEO said.
The company did not disclose exactly how many jobs are involved, but according to Quartz, the coat manufacturer had 4,760 employees in April 2023.
